On March 24th, 1998 Envelope Manager Software®announced the formation of a partnership with Microsoft® Corp. to produce a suite of next-generation mailing software. The first two products from this partnership, DAZzle Express from Envelope Manager Software and Direct Mail Manager from Microsoft were released that same week.
This new relationship with Microsoft enables us to bring Dial-A-ZIP and our other Internet mailing technology to the huge Microsoft Office customer base. Microsoft Direct Mail Manager, released as part of Microsoft Office 97, Small Business Edition, version 2, was developed by Envelope Manager Software. Direct Mail Manager breaks new ground for mailing software by providing a wizard-like interface to guide the user step-by-step through the confusing process of producing a bulk (discount) mailing. This new program is designed to offer the small office/home office market direct marketing capabilities that previously were only available to large corporations or professional mailers. The key reason DAZzle Express is able to provide powerful mailing capabilities in an affordable package is its use of the latest Internet technology. Both the address verification process (using the patented Dial-A-ZIP® technology) and the auto-update feature (for automatic notification and installation updates) use the Internet in a seamless fashion. DAZzle Express (available from Envelope Manager Software) is the sister application to Direct Mail Manager. DAZzle Express is essentially a more powerful version of Direct Mail Manager, offering more mailing sorting options for greater postage savings, support for larger mailing lists and more sophisticated design and printing options with DAZzle Plus. A Direct Mail Manager user who wants to take advantage of the advanced features of DAZzle Express can upgrade for $195.
