SUPPORT
I'm getting multiple error messages. The first one reads,
"C:\WINEM\WINEM32.EXE A device attached to the system is not functioning."
The second error reads,
"The EMPSTG32.DLL file is linked to a missing export EMLCNS32.DLL:@_walkdebuggerdata$qv."
Why and what do I do?

This is caused by having a wrong version of the EMLCNS32.DLL file installed on your machine. The simplest thing to do is a clean re-installation of the software. Check and make sure that you have the installation CD or file for your software (EMSETUP.EXE for Envelope Manager or DASETUP.EXE for DAZzle Plus/Designer). If not, stop and contact Technical Support.
To do a clean re-installation of your software:

  1. Click on Start, Find, Files or Folders.
  2. "Look in" will be your C:\ drive. In the "Named" field, type in EM*.DLL
  3. Click on Find Now.
  4. After it has finished searching, sort the file names into alphabetical order by clicking on the heading "Name" (in the gray box, above the list of files it found).
  5. Delete ALL COPIES of the following files.
    EMDAZ32.DLL
    EMGRPH32.DLL
    EMLCNS32.DLL
    EMPSTG32.DLL

NOTE: You can delete a file by either left-clicking on the file name then hitting the DELETE key on your keyboard, or by right-clicking on the file name then selecting "Delete".
Run the installation CD or file for your software (EMSETUP.EXE for Envelope Manager or DASETUP.EXE for DAZzle Plus/Designer) and re-install the software. Try running the program now. Does it work?

If you're still receiving an error message, then contact Technical Support with the error message still on the screen. If you're unable to call at that time, write down all of the text in the error message box exactly as it appears. Be sure to include the full pathname, with the three character extension at the end (e.g., c:\winem\database.dbf ).
