How do I set up the USPS AMS CD-ROM? How do I look up ZIP Codes on the CD?

NOTE: This procedure works only in version 3.010.008 or later of Envelope Manager PAVE, Envelope Manager LE, Neopost Business Mailer, or AlphaMailer. If you do not have one of those versions, do not follow this procedure. Instead, run the "SETUPCD (1).EXE" file from the floppy disk that came with the USPS CD.

  1. Make sure you have a current copy of the USPS AMS CD-ROM.
  2. Inside Envelope Manager, go to the File menu and choose Preferences. Then click on the Address Verification tab.
  3. Choose the USPS AMS CD-ROM option.
  4. Click on the Install CD button that appears. Follow the instructions on the screen.
    • Typically the Target Hard Drive is C:
    • Do not check the Copy main address file to hard drive button unless you have at least 500 meg free on your hard drive and you don’t mind letting your computer copy files for a long time.
  5. When the CD installation returns to its original screen, click on the OK or Done button in the upper right.
  6. Click on the Test AMS button. The follow screen should appear.octAMScd.gif (12576 bytes)
  7. Note the expiration information listed at the bottom of the diagnostics screen.
  8. When you receive a new CD, repeat steps 2-6.
